Our contribution to sustainability

Our nature is our greatest wealth. That's why it concerns us all to protect it as much as possible. We as a ski and excursion resort want to do our part and make it our mission to get closer to the goal of climate neutrality step by step.

what we already achieve

Electrical
energy

We operate all cable car facilities, the technical snowmaking system, restaurants, etc. with electricity that comes from over 97% renewable energy with a certificate of origin.
The remaining approx. 3% is generated by our own power generators to cover consumption peaks or power outages. (as at 2024)

Heating & Heat Recovery

The heating of the hospitality establishments is mainly done by biomass. We use centrally cooled cooling systems.

public transport

The railway station of Versciaco is directly connected to the Monte Elmo cable car station. Trains and ski shuttles run every half hour and/or hour.

Eco-friendly snowmaking

There are two large water storage facilities in the ski area. The water is therefore imminently available and does not have to be taken from surrounding waters.

We use the ATASS system from Techno Alpin, a modern snow monitoring system for efficient snow production - the demand for snow is analysed and then produced.

Snow groomers

All snow groomers are equipped with a digital snow depth measurement system. This enables to distribute the snow in an energy-saving and efficient manner. All our snow groomers use the most efficient drive engines of the latest design in compliance with the latest emission norms.

Regional products

The ski area operates 5 gastronomic establishments. In all establishments, regionality is emphasised and therefore the required products are obtained from suppliers in the region.

Modern lift systems

The speed of the cable cars and lifts is adjusted to the capacity. The majority of them are of the latest technology and have no intermediate gear (direct drive), which saves energy.

Online & Eco tickets

We rely on online sales, therefore, in addition to the traditional advantages such as saving time, we can also save on some of the physical tickets.

Charging stations

In order to contribute to the reduction of fossil fuels in the automobile industry, we have installed electric charging columns at some of our lift stations (Punka, Monte Baranci valley station, Helmjet valley station).
